I spend the most of this weekend completing a business plan for a future company called InVacc. It’s a medical company started by a MD and Ph.D. student at Copenhagen University.
We started writing the business plan at part of a entrepreneurial course on Copenhagen University. Peter – the Ph.D. guy with the idea – took the course to develop business skills and contacts that would help him develop the company. Myself and to other guys joined the group and wrote a business plan for the course.
As a test of the quality of the business plan we submitted it to the Venture Cup, and won the regional finale for which Peter received 10.000DKK to develop the business further. The work we did this weekend was the final rewriting and editing before we submit it to the national venture cup competition. Hopefully we will get picket for the grand finale :)
Writing this business plan has been a great thing for me to do. Normally I consider my self to be quite on top of what I do, but this projects have turn that around. I know absolutely nothing about chemistry, biology or medicine. I’m sure Peter used me as a way to ensure that if I understood some sentence or paragraph then everybody does :)
I’m not part of the company in any way in the future, but it will be very exciting to keep track of their development. It would be nice if my first business plan turned out to be something big. Just for the track record anyway.
